I was Born in Curaçao and am currently residing in Bonaire.

I studied tourism and hotel management in The Netherlands of which the subject etiquette was a prominent part of the curriculum. After having worked a few years in the sales & marketing department of several hotels in the region I started my own training consultancy firm for kids and adults. When I celebrated the 10th anniversary of my training consultancy, I decided to put my expertise down on paper in the form of an etiquette book for kids of the ABC islands. It was supposed to be a one-time thing, but the book was so well received that parents and teachers soon started asking when the next edition would come out. As a result, the single book turned into a series of four.

Some of my books are bilingual (Papiamentu/o & Dutch, Spanish & English). My books focus on teaching kids norms and values which is an essential part of a child’s education. I have also written books for adults and young professionals such as a book on business etiquette ‘Etikèt e porta pa éksito’ and ‘Lanta sin tata’.

Because of my experience in publishing books and the desire to help new and upcoming writers, I was motivated to start up my own publishing firm. With my publishing firm, I publish my own books as well as books by other authors of the ABC islands and The Netherlands.

I am grateful to have had the honor to receive awards and recognitions for my work in the world of literature. Amongst others, the International day of modern language was dedicated to me in 2019 by the government of Bonaire/SKAL, the public library of Bonaire, and Fundashon Akademia Papiamentu. In 2020 I received the ‘Tapushi Literario’ from Arte di Palabra Kórsou, in the same year I also received ‘Pipita di kómkómber’ from Arte di Palabra Boneiru.
